Well... I'm back.
And guess what I brought back with me!
3 whole pounds!
I shudder to think what would have happened had I not gone for a run every day. You did read that correctly- I ran every day of the 6 days I was on vacation. What?!? I have to pat myself on the back for this because that is no easy task my friends. I was tired and wanted to just relax but I also wanted to not feel guilty eating to my hearts content.
Those 3 pounds however, not so proud of that. Although! That is pretty impressive considering vacation consisted of mainly this-
And, of course, a fairly decent (though entirely reasonable) amount of this-
Mmmmmm. So good.
But now what?
I've been at this point so many times before. I stick to a diet, I get down to a good weight, then once I start slacking it all sort of avalanches out of control. I'm determined to not let that happen this time.
So I got right back to it the morning after we got home!
It's so hard to reestablish that level of routine. I think thats why so many of us falter after a short break. So I'm trying to tell myself- Just do it. And not in the cheesy Nike kind of way. In the "No excuses, you did it before, now just kick your booty back into gear," kind of way... Which is totally in the cheesy Nike kind of way...
I guess those Nike people really knew what they were doing when they came up with that ad campaign.
So here I go! Giving myself no other option but to keep at it and keep getting healthier and healthier by the day. I can and will do this.
And, of course, using some of those awesome motivational quotes you find on Pinterest to do it. I mean, who doesn't turn to Pinterest for a little added pick me up?
And there's a ton more where that came from over on my "Let's Get Physical" Pinterest board. Because I always feel a little more fit just for pinning something fitness related.
Now- to lose these few pounds of vacation weight and the last couple pounds I wanted to lose in the first place...
So I can stuff my face guilt-free once again the next time I go on vacation.
How do you get yourself back to the grind after you've stumbled?
